[Tokyo] Research and Development Position / Creation and Dissemination of 'Next Generation Varieties' ◆ Second New Graduates Welcome / Weekends and Holidays Off / Remote Work System Available [An agriculture startup venture originating from the University of Tokyo / A company gaining attention in the media / Aiming to create a 'Premium Agricultural Crop Brand' that is globally competitive / Remote work system available] ■ Job Responsibilities: As a research and development position, you will be responsible for the creation and dissemination of 'next generation varieties'. * Support will be provided by employees for any lack of experience at the time of joining. ■ Specific Job Responsibilities: Depending on your area of expertise, you are expected to achieve results such as the following: - Breeding Science: Standardization of crossbreeding plans and analysis of phenotype survey data, development of groundbreaking new varieties. - Facility Horticulture: Optimization of environmental control parameters suitable for our varieties and dissemination of cultivation techniques to farmers. - Statistics and Machine Learning: Construction of predictive models and selection models using cultivation and trait data, improvement of accuracy. * There may be overseas business trips to overseas test farms and collaborating research institutions, as well as trips to our research farms (Nagakawa Town, Hiki District, Saitama Prefecture; Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture), contracted producers, and our satellite lab (Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture). ■ Company Features: We are an agricultural startup that challenges global agriculture's "climate change adaptation" with technology and business. We are starting with "Strawberries x Japan and Southeast Asia" and have been experiencing rapid growth in the first three years. ■ In addition to the mandatory requirements, the following are welcomed: - Experience leading presentations at academic conferences, joint research, or university projects. - Breeding Science: Bioinformatics experience such as GWAS, QTL analysis, genomic prediction / Experience collaborating with cultivation sites and farmers / Experience in field communication such as accompanying sales. - Facility Horticulture: Experience in creating and operating environmental sensors and IoT devices / Experience collaborating with cultivation sites and farmers / Experience in field communication such as accompanying sales. - Statistics and ML: Bioinformatics experience such as GWAS, QTL analysis, genomic prediction / Experience in analysis and reproducibility management using Git, Jupyter, RMarkdown, etc. Scope of changes: Duties defined by the company.

Skills and qualifications:

• Final Education: Graduate School, University Graduate or Higher
• Breeding Science: Master's or higher in related fields of plant breeding, genetics, or crop science / Experience in crossbreeding and trait evaluation / Basic understanding of genetic rates and quantitative traits
• Facility Horticulture: Master's or higher in related fields of facility horticulture, plant physiology, or biological environmental engineering / Understanding the relationship between environmental factors such as light, temperature, CO2, and growth / Experience in operating or developing environmental control devices
• Statistics and ML: Master's or higher in related fields of statistics, machine learning, or data science / Experience in data analysis using Python or R / Experience in designing, implementing, validating, and improving statistical models or machine learning models
